1. Crew Competence Measurement Facilities
A software program that determines the competence profile of seafarers prior to employment in order to assure that they indeed have the knowledge they claim to have, testing of personnel to justify promotion decisions and identification of knowledge gaps among personnel so that upgrading and refresher courses can be allocated. 

2. Sea Hazard Simulation System

A software program that simulates navigation under real life conditions or prepares the seafarer for real life watch- keeping.

We also give IQ tests like:

Ability Profile – measures the mental ability or general learning ability of the applicant. It tests the candidate's abilities to perform problem solving, clear thinking, speed, accuracy and understand different levels of complexities.

Maritime English – To better evaluate the English proficiency of crew, a written English test is also administered.

Crew who does not meet the passing grade shall be encouraged to take a Maritime English course and after completion of said course, another English examination will be given.


3. Up-to-date Information Sytems
The computerized method of crew documentation/selection using one of the best and popular database application softwares in manning industry has contributed to its prompt processing of crew for immediate deployment. Computerized Allotment System is also a plus factor that guarantees all allottees to receive their allotments on time.

Aside from the computerized system, NFD’s direct dialing, telefax and e-mail systems also provide effective communication.

5. Extensive Crew Support

Extensive Pre-Departure Orientation Seminars (PDOS) are conducted every week and includes the following topics:

- terms and conditions of employment
- CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement)
- code of discipline and responsibilities of each position on-board vessels
- allotment of seafarers
- travel tips
- latest news about the shipping industry

This seminar also aims to inform and familiarize seamen about life on-board the ship.


6. Efficient Services
NFD handles all aspects of the preparation for a seafarer to join a vessel which includes medical and travel documents. The office staff are acquainted with various flag-state regulations and relevant national and international maritime laws.
