The first ISO 9002 certification earned by NFD on March 1994 until February 1997 gave NFD the recognition as the first Philippine Manning Agency to earn such worldwide acclaim. The Company has successfully renewed and upgraded its ISO 9002 certification from the classification society Det Norske Veritas (DNV)to ISO 9001-2000 standards with validity from February 18, 2003 to February 18, 2006.

The renewal/re-certification only proved that the quality policies and procedures as outlined in the Company's governing documents, i.e. the quality management systems manual, the operations manual, office manual, accounting manual, job description manual and reference documents were maintained, observed, implemented and more importantly improved for the upgrading of business/work relationship and interactions with its clients/principals, seafarers, suppliers and shore-based staff/personnel.
